The Specialist Crime Directorate (SCD) is one of the main branches of the London Metropolitan Police Service. It deals with a wide range of criminality ranging from murder to organised crime. The Directorate is the lead national police agency responsible for specialist crime inivestigations. It can be compared to the USA's Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) but on a slightly smaller scale.

The SCD is made up of eight divisions: SCD1 - Homicide and Serious Crime Command

SCD4 - Forensic Services

SCD5 - Child Abuse Investigation Command

SCD6 - Economic and Specialist Crime

SCD7 - Serious and Organised Crime Group (AKA SOCA)

SCD8 - Trident and Trafalgar

SCD10 - Covert Policing

SCD11 - Intelligence
