Seize The Day is the 2273rd episode of The Bill.
With home troubles at home, Nikki is paired with Will, who is feeling he's had enough of being a PC. However, their personal lives will have to wait, when a man is trapped in his car when a scaffolding pole falls off a tower block. The pole impales the driver, and the passenger, a local youth Anthony Watt is out in time. Nikki stays with the victim, but the emergency registrar says they will keep him alive until he bleeds out. DI Manson tells CID that they're going to find who did it before Leslie Downie dies. Jo and Stevie interview his brother, who stands to gain everything, and Will and Manson interview Anthony and his brother Damon. However, when his mother shows up, Damon can't get away quickly enough. And with good reason, CID find his fingerprints on the pole. However, they arrive at the family home, they find Damon with stab wounds, and Will quickly determines it's not a suicide. CID arrest a body builder loan shark, but need about four arresting officers! As Nikki watches Leslie die, she goes to Heaton and resigns. Will is offered a temporary secondment to CID.
