John Savident was born 21 January, 1938 in Guernsey. He is a British actor who played Fred Elliott in Coronation Street, he has also been in Juliet Bravo, Blakes 7, The Bill, Boon, Fresh Fields, Hudson Hawk, Tom & Viv, Impromptu, Lovejoy, Middlemarch, Jeeves and Wooster, Shelley, Z Cars, The Professionals, Crown Court, Dixon of Dock Green, Our Mutual Friend, Softly Softly, Callan, Department S, The Wednesday Play, The Saint, The Avengers, and A Clockwork Orange.
