Nikki is stressed about life at home when her son comes down with gastric flu. Paired with Roger, who is insisting on catching a cyclist who knocked into him, but Nikki insists he stops when she sees a 13 year old boy covered in blood. As Roger takes young Alfie to hospital, Nikki goes to find his parents, as Will and Ben look for witnesses, one of which is a homeless informant of DC Jo Masters, Sammo Taylor. However, he refuses to speak to CID until they find his ferret, who ran away from him as Jo and Stevie went to have a chat. The ferret is found and he tells them that a local drug dealer was responsible for the attack, Lucas Walsh. Nikki finds the mother but their house has been turned over. Roger and Banksy search the flat and find heroin in Alfie's bedroom, and it is uncovered that his father is just out of jail, for drug dealing. It appears that Alfie's father Carl Eagen, and Lucas Walsh are warring over control of drug dealing on the Belina Estate. However, things take a sinister twist when Carl Eagen is found dead in a bathtub full of compost in his flat-turned-cannabis factory. Lucas Walsh is re arrested and confesses to assaulting Alfie and turning over the Eagen's, claiming that Alfie was a runner for Carl. Although there is still the answer of Carl's killer, and when Alfie goes missing, does he have something to hide? Does his involvement go further than drug dealing? Roger and Nikki clash over the handling of the case.
