Sir Peter Copley was born 20 May, 1915 and died 7 October, 2008. He was a British actor who appeared in The Bill, Doctor Who, Grange Hill, Lovejoy, Casualty, Doctors, The New Avengers, The Avengers, Jonathan Creek, Where the Heart Is, Ruth Rendell Mysteries, Agatha Christie's Poirot, Z Cars, Softly Softly, The Saint, Sanctuary, and Sherlock Holmes. He was knighted for his services to television in 1999.
