PC Eddie Santini is first on the scene of a serious car accident, and becomes a bit of a local hero when he bravely dives into the river to secure the car. Before the driver dies from his injuries, he begs Santini to "take care" of a present for his mistress: a box of cocaine. Santini duly disposes of the package, but finds himself in trouble when PC Sam Harker hears about the missing drugs, and the accident victim's mistress sets some thugs onto him to retrieve them.
